Wiles of the Devil: Part 2 of 3

Preview: This is the second part of a three-part lesson on this subject.


Scripture Reading: I Peter 5:1-11.

Memory Verse: Revelation 2:10.

1. How do the foregoing Scriptures describe Satan’s work today?
2. What happens to our relationship with God when we take our eyes off of Him? Matthew 24:36-39 & Matthew 24:50-51.
Note: Satan discouraged Elijah to the point of death, but God called him to get up and get about the Father’s business. He is calling all of His people into His service today. There is no time or place for our pity parties. When God’s children start looking at their circumstances instead of the promises of a faithful God, they become discouraged and doubtful as Elijah did (I Kings 19:6 & I Kings 19:9-10). The Body of Christ must wake up and look up or they can be deceived.
3. What has Christ commissioned all to do? Matthew 28:19-20.
4. What other assurance do we have that He will always be with the faithful? Psalm 37:23-29.
5. What trick of Satan caused Peter to fail? Matthew 14:22-31.
Note: Even though a child of God may stumble and fall, He is able to restore and forgive all who confess and forsake sin. Don’t give up.
6. What other example did Christ give concerning fear and doubt? Matthew 25:24-30.
7. What else did Peter’s fear cause him to do? Matthew 26:69-75.
8. What is lacking in our lives when we are fearful instead of faithful? I John 4:17-18.
9. What will be our testimony when we truly experience that perfect love? Psalm 27:1-6.
Note: The Devil came to kill, steal, and destroy. He uses discouragement and lying wonders, but our hope and love must be to God.
10. What else did the Psalmist say about this? Psalm 27:7-14.
Note: Regardless of what is happening in our lives, God’s people must believe He knows and cares; and in His time He can and will change the situation, if we will diligently seek Him. Satan is no match for our Savior.
